In the watercolor painting titled Outdoors, a female figure sits beneath the foliage of trees, reading or drawing. She works in deep concentration; her figure appears static against the dynamic movement of the leaves. The painting derives its compelling quality from the interplay of light and shadow across the foliage.
The image juxtaposes the permanence of nature with the transience of human presence. The female figure appears diminutive amidst the massive, organic plant forms and the freely flowing washes of water. How small humanity is compared to the grandeur of nature. Yet, here, human and landscape exist in perfect harmony. The translucent layers of the watercolor enhance the sense of silence and spaciousness.
The watercolors in the Rocking Silence series were created in the region of the Holt-Körös (Dead Körös) in Hungary. The central motif of the series is water—an element that is calm, almost motionless, yet ever-present. It separates, embraces, and connects, gently touching everything that surrounds it.
Water acts simultaneously as a surface, a boundary, and a presence. Within this silence, a quiet dialogue unfolds between the river and the surrounding vegetation. Forms respond to one another, shifting subtly within a shared, balanced space. Occasionally, traces of human presence emerge—tiny interruptions amidst the organic shapes.
